PRESS RELEASE – Hired Hand Hits the Road for a mini-summer tour

When Fake Four Music released Hired Hand’s first CD, the label’s founder called it, “the curveball record of the year.” This modern western collaboration, between the members of Skyrider and singer/songwriter Jim Wurster, was a departure for the label, which is known for it’s indie Hip/Hop roster including international success stories like Astronautalis and Ceschi.
Skyrider (alias Bud Berning) and Wurster are related by music and family history. When Bud had a near-death accident, Wurster helped nurse him back to health with a strong dose of musical medicine. Years later, Skyrider coaxed Jim out west to record an album of Wurster’s stark, edgy Americana and the Hired Hand project was born.
In support of their first album, Hired Hand is doing a western mini-tour with dates in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Flagstaff.
