Lost In A Love Song/ Collab with Rick Butler

I had just met someone that was making me feel crazy like you do when you fall in love but it was way too soon to admit that.  I was crazy like I wanna call 20 times in a row and scream WHAT IS THIS – ARE WE IN LOVE???????  Instead of giving into the insanity of my emotions I realized I needed to pour all my energy into a project.  I found the Hotel California song contest on craigslist and replied but completely forgotten about it.  I got an email saying hey we have a couple days left before the deadline how is your song coming?  I was so happy to get the reminder right in that moment.  This is what I decided to focus on instead while I waited patiently for that phone call to say I could see my crush again.   I got the lyrics from Rick Butler (the owner of the hotel) and spent two days locked up in my studio arranging the poem and writing a guitar part and vocal melody.   I poured all my emotions into Rick’s lyrics and came up with this version of Lost in A Love Song.  It was a really lovely process and just what I needed to play it cool while I waited for that phone call from my crush.  

I won the contest and received $400 and 4 nights stay on the beach at Hotel California.  When I went to stay at the hotel Rick had played this song for all the employees so everyone knew who I was before I got there.  The Hotel was very comfortable and beautiful.  It is right by the Santa Monica Pier so I had a girls night with my best two LA girls and wandered around.  I also had some good relaxing time to myself and well yes of course I had a lovely evening with my new love!
